Universities evidently no longer serve to create an intellectual elite, but to breed everyone to the same level of stupidity.

Everyone is so proud of South Africa, how a supposedly derelict African nation is able to organise such a grand-scale sporting event. Unlike many others, I still read my daily newspaper to inform myself. I read columns about the aftermath of Apartheid still having an adverse affect upon the Black population and all that nonsense. What I don’t read about however is the plight and discrimination that especially the Afrikaans-speaking part of the population is suffering.
