Hjemkomst Center to bring Viking era to life
The Minnesota Vikings may not take the field until later this month, but guests can get their fill of true Viking culture this weekend in Moorhead.
Viking Village, an outdoor living exhibit of Viking life around the year 900 in Scandinavia, is Saturday and July 19 at the Hjemkomst Center, 202 1st Ave. N., Moorhead.
Demonstrators will perform songs, give combat demonstrations and teach skills in making clothes, metalwork, jewelry and food. There are several kids’ activities, such as felting, medieval board games and crafts.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. July 19. Admission is $1 more than regular museum admission. There is a family rate available for $25.
