Britons are leaving the country in record numbers

BRITONS are leaving the country in record numbers—thanks to spiralling levels of IMMIGRATION, CRIME and TAX.
Government figures set to be released later this year will show that an astonishing 250,000 people fled Britain in 2007.

Meanwhile, huge numbers of foreigners are pouring INTO the UK, with 591,000 settling here in 2006.

Dutch Muslims Condemn Freedom of Expression

The Dutch Muslim Council has attacked far-right Dutch MP Geert Wilders’ politics as “racist and fascist”. The council, which includes 200 organisations, appealed for calm ahead of the planned release by the MP of a controversial film.

Viking Warship receives DKK 2m

Three Little Pigs ‘too offensive’

A story based on the Three Little Pigs fairy tale has been turned down by a government agency’s awards panel as the subject matter could offend Muslims. The digital book, re-telling the classic story, was rejected by judges who warned that “the use of pigs raises cultural issues”.

In December we announced the discovery of a Roman stone coffin at Boscombe Down in Wiltshire. Inside were the remains of a woman cradling a child in her arms. The unique environment within the coffin had allowed the preservation of the leather and cork slippers of the lady, as well as the child’s calf skin shoes. This was an exceptionally rare find.

‘Scrap metal’ was Bronze Age hoard

A coach driver discovered Britain’s largest hoard of Bronze Age axeheads while waiting for a party of school-children at a Dorset farm.

Tom Peirce, 60, asked the farm’s owner if he could use his metal detector in one of the fields during his lunchbreak. Within minutes he heard a loud beep and found part of a bronze axe.

Lasers unearth historical sites

Laser technology is being used to locate potential archaeological sites hidden by woodland in Worcestershire. The hope is that ancient settlements and farms across the Wyre Forest will be detected by lasers fired from aircraft 3,300ft (1,000m) up.
